Brightstone Transitions believes all young adults are unique. We believe no young adult shares the same background or issues, however, many do share certain characteristics.
Our clients are young men and women, ranging in age from 18-26 who typically struggle socially, haven’t been able to achieve success, and are craving independence. Many of our clients are diagnosed with ADHD, NLD, or Autism Spectrum Disorder Level 1 (formally referred to as Asperger’s Syndrome in the DSM IV). The struggles our clients face are often associated with multiple diagnoses. We partner with each client’s practitioner to help develop an individualized plan for the young adult.
Our clients are high-functioning, bright, and typically anxious in new situations. They tend to struggle socially and/or academically, and haven’t learned the life skills necessary to be successful. Our clients are capable of success, but for whatever reason they have been unable to achieve/maintain that success. Many have failed to “launch” and often appear unwilling or unable to achieve the milestones established by their peers.
Our clients often come to Brightstone Transitions feeling frustrated and defeated by their inability to keep up with family and societal expectations. Providing our clients with a change in environment can be the catalyst to moving forward. Creating proficiency in life skills associated with social, educational, vocational aspects of life will empower them to live independent and successful lives.
